welcome to port ludlow life

A village hub for community news, events, and spotlights.

Whether you're a longtime resident or newly arrived, Port Ludlow Life is here to celebrate the people, places, and stories that make our village special.

history spotlight

Restoring Port Ludlow's oldest building, one beam at a time.

Formed by community volunteers in 2019, Friends of Swansonville is on a mission to preserve the historic 1904 Swansonville Church—the last remaining historic community building in Port Ludlow.

With grants from the National Park Service and National Trust for Historic Preservation, they've already replaced the roof, fortified the bell tower, and begun foundation work. Now, this all-volunteer group is working to transform the building into a vibrant community center and museum for future generations.

port ludlow voice

The voice of our village for 30+ years.

For years, The Port Ludlow Voice has landed in mailboxes across the Village in the Woods by the Bay—a gorgeous print & digital publication run entirely by volunteers, covering the stories that matter to our community. Now, they've got a fresh new website to match.

Whether you're flipping through the print edition or browsing online, The Port Ludlow Voice is proof that a small town with big-hearted volunteers can still tell its own stories.

At plvoice.org, you'll find:

  • Archives: A massive, searchable collection of past issues, all downloadable as PDFs and viewable on your phone or computer.

  • Photos: Full-color images from around town that just couldn't fit in print.

  • Submissions: A new portal that lets you submit your own articles—club news, event recaps, or anything else fellow Ludlowites should know. (Just keep it clean and non-political!)

  • Breaking News: Like their recent deep dive into the proposed Verizon cell tower project near Swansonville Road—a tip submitted by a reader that turned into real community journalism.

  • Advertiser Info: Everything local businesses need to get involved.
